Finding artists who are genre hybrids is hard now. Although several talented artists crossed over into different genres and established their own perspective, it’s very difficult to establish your own sound off of two contradicting genres. Well, Kle Dulgarian makes the attempt with his album Metamorphosis, bringing together R&B and Gospel music, two genres that ironically conflict each other culturally. While he has some time to develop and tune his sound, Kle might be a solid candidate who can withhold both R&B and Gospel in his music, and you might not even know that your are listening to it.
Kle’s has a softer touch to his music compared to modern R&B albums. Songs like “Bring It Back” and “Through The Rain” provide a slower tempo for the ladies. Even though there’s a solid number of slow jams in a gospel or relations type of mood, there are some more up-tempo songs that get’s you grooving. One of the best songs off of the project was “So Good”, with the a Bone-Thuggish flow in the background vocals has he sings of praise. This song was a very good song that combined a hip-hop/R&B vibe to gospel music.
Kle’s vocal talent remains solid throughout Metamorphosis, yet he is able to hit a few long notes throughout the project. His voice stands out with assistance by the production, and creates a perfect match between each other, “Club Land” is a great example of how this picture is made.
Metamorphosis is a solid project from Kle. The artist’s sound is present and played out in a decent fashion. With the proper development, we might see more dope music in the near future from Kle.
